New Meeting Location Added

We have been searching for a meeting location on the west side of the county. After several months of searching, the willingness of the current group to do some schedule shuffling, and the Emergency Management Director meeting with Fire Commissioners, we have been granted permission to host quarterly meetings at West Pend Oreille Fire Department’s Station 3.

At the request of the group currently holding meetings, it has been requested to allow time to get the word out regarding the change in meeting days.

Therefore, we will begin holding quarterly meetings at this location beginning April 4th. And, for the remainder of the year, the dates are July 4th (probably will not have, unless we move to another day), and October 3rd.

The address for West Pend Oreille Fire Department Station 3 is 4458 Old Priest River Road, Oldtown, ID 83822. Coordinates are Lat 48.16659498930894N, Long -116.99558642462102W

Field Day 2024

Save the date, June 22-23, 2024. Why?

ARRL sponsored Field Day 2024 is that date. This year, Bonner County ARES, K7BNR, along with Bonner County Amateur Radio Club (BCARC), K7JEP, will operate as one team using the special event call-sign K7B.

This year we will hold the event at House of the Lord Church (HOTL), Highway 41 Campus. The address is 36245 Highway 41, Oldtown, ID 83822.

We intend to operate and exchange as 2A ID. And, in addition to the 2 stations operating either voice, digital or CW, there are plans to have a GOTA station.

Also, the Royal Rangers group from HOTL are planning to attend the event, camp overnight, learn more about amateur radio and make use of the GOTA station.

The Royal Rangers program is an activity-based, small group church ministry for boys and young men in grades K-12. (https://royalrangers.com/home).

We look forward to this years Field Day event. Plan to come and check things out on Saturday. We always have a great time and enjoying sharing with others what amateur radio is all about.
